The representative of the Institute of Contemporary Technologies of Montenegro, Milena Ljutica, together with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, an associated partner in the BLUEQ project, participated in the TSG3 Environment Pillar and Interreg IPA ADRION Matchmaking Event held in Izola. The event brought together projects and representatives of EUSAIR to identify concrete opportunities for cooperation and wider application of project results.

The event enabled a direct connection of the results of the Interreg IPA ADRION projects with the priorities of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), in particular in the field of environmental protection. For BLUEQ, this was an opportunity to present results, methodologies and digital solutions relevant for coastal habitat monitoring and blue carbon and to consider the possibilities of their transfer and application in the wider Adriatic and Ionian region.

Linking BLUEQ results with EUSAIR priorities

The working part of the event was organized through thematic Mission Tables, which combined short project inputs and moderated discussions on results, synergies, shortcomings and opportunities for further cooperation. Milena Ljutica participated in Mission Table 1 – Marine and Coastal Environment, dedicated to the topics of marine and coastal living space and the protection of sea and inland waters, where the results and potential synergies of projects funded through Interreg IPA ADRION were discussed.
A particular focus was on which existing results could be transferred, replicated or used at a wider Adriatic-Ionian level, including data, monitoring methodologies, pilot activities, digital tools, stakeholder networks and other practical results.

From project results to broader regional impact

The discussion focused on concrete ways in which project results can contribute to the implementation of EUSAIR Pillar 3 activities. In the case of BLUEQ, of particular importance are experiences in monitoring and mapping coastal habitats, the development of a common WebGIS solution and data integration that can support a better understanding and management of marine ecosystems. Participants also discussed opportunities for transfer of results, linking existing partnerships and developing new project ideas.

Participation in the event in Izola further connected the experience and results of the BLUEQ project with wider European and macro-regional priorities. The exchange with other IPA ADRION projects and EUSAIR representatives provides a basis for continued cooperation, development of new initiatives and wider application of solutions contributing to sustainable management of the Adriatic-Ionian region.
