Applications are open for the DARING Short Master programme and accompanying training courses. The opportunity is intended for candidates who wish to develop innovative ideas in healthcare for people with neurodegenerative diseases and represents the first phase of the DARING Empowerment Programme.

The programme connects innovation with the real needs of patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and local care systems. With support from experts and healthcare service users, participants can validate their ideas and develop solutions that may contribute to better, more accessible and sustainable support for people with neurodegenerative diseases.

From an idea to a sustainable healthcare solution

Candidates may apply with an innovative business idea or an early-stage concept that addresses real challenges in healthcare and the daily care of people with neurodegenerative diseases. Proposed solutions may focus on the needs of patients, their families and caregivers, healthcare professionals or local care systems. During the Short Master programme, participants will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills through online modules, live sessions, group work and co-design activities with experts, patients and caregivers. This process will enable them to test, refine and align their initial ideas with users’ actual needs.

The journey through the Short Master, Hackathon and incubator

The Short Master and accompanying courses are the starting point of the development process. Selected participants will have the opportunity to further develop their concepts through a Hackathon, supported by intensive teamwork and mentoring. The winning teams will continue through the Incubator Summer Week, where the most promising solutions will be further improved and prepared for presentation to potential investors. Detailed eligibility conditions, selection criteria and application information are available in the DARING Call for Applications.
